BGE Wires Down Video Challenge

The votes have been tallied and winners chosen for the 5th annual BGE Wires Down Video Challenge! Thank you to all of the schools that submitted entries in this year’s challenge. We had a number of very creative and spirited submissions from schools throughout the BGE service area. Here is the list of winners:

In many ways, every school that participated is a winner. The safety practices students learned during the video challenge could help themselves and those around them avoid potentially dangerous situations around electrical equipment. Our goal with this video challenge is to encourage electric safety education and teach children to be aware of potential hazards surrounding electricity while also giving back to the communities that BGE supports.

Since the launch of this contest, BGE has provided $145,000 to 43 elementary schools to use for enrichment projects for their winning videos. To learn more about the BGE Wires Down Video Challenge and to view the winning videos, please visit
